How You Can Help

Nathanael Szobody

Nathanael lives in Saint Charles, Illinois. He and his wife Carrie are expecting their first child in early 2010. He is a part-time drywall contractor in the Chicago area, a part-time teacher of Latin and French and a part-time undergraduate student at Concordia University Chicago. In the fall of 2009, he will graduate with a bachelor's degree in Theology. In his leisure, he enjoys reading and writing theology and poetry. He also likes to make espresso for his friends and family.

Nathanael spent much of his childhood traveling and lived in Africa during his high school years. He and his wife enjoy, and are pursuing, cross-cultural ministry in various forms and contexts.

Nathanael joined HFTFN on a summer missions trip to White Earth in 2005. He was introduced to the organization by Sarah Ross when they were both at Concordia. At first he was hesitant to join a missions trip, preferring to focus on his studies. He was convinced to go by hearing of the immense needs on the reservation and the commitment of HFTFN over 11 years to the people of the White Earth reservation. After his first trip with the team he decided to return the following year and continue to contribute to the ministry. Since then he has gone on five summer trips and one winter trip.
